The Consortium of Development Education Centres (CoDEC) are delivering the Global Teachers Award as part of the training offer in the new Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme. There are different levels of training that you can access.
Global Education Derby are managing this programme on behalf of CoDEC.
Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning works with schools around the world to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to thrive.
Global Teacher Award Level 1*
This course introduces key themes from the global Sustainable Development Goals that enrich teaching and learning in the classroom. The Global Teacher Award (GTA) builds teachers’ skills, confidence and practical approaches to incorporate global learning into the curriculum and active global citizenship in the school, as well as partnership collaboration.

Who is this for?
All teachers, especially International/PSHE/MFL coordinators, and teachers with responsibility for Eco-Schools, Rights Respecting Schools, fair trade or global/international links.
Newly appointed coordinators or those with an interest in developing any of these areas further are welcome.
How will I benefit?
This course provides accredited recognition of teachers’ practice. It will help you nurture informed, active global citizenship amongst pupils of all ages and abilities and enhance SMSC provision.
Time commitment
One six hour workshop
Delivery Provider

A face to face workshop. Optional tutorial support is available for a reflection assignment. Teachers implement changes to their practice and curriculum, and discuss this with peers.
