The Consortium of Development Education Centres (CoDEC) are delivering the Global Teachers Award as part of the training offer in the new Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme. There are different levels of training that you can access.
Global Education Derby are managing this programme on behalf of CoDEC.

Who is this for?
All teachers, especially experienced International/PSHE/MFL coordinators, and teachers leading on Eco-Schools, Rights Respecting Schools, fair trade or global/international links across the whole school.
How will I benefit?
This course will provide you with accredited recognition for your practice. It will increase your ability to critique key global learning concepts around the SDGs, identifying and questioning perspective and assumptions that lie behind some of them. It will support you to promote change within your classroom and with your peers, demonstrating why change in ethos to equity and reciprocity is beneficial to partnerships with the Global South. It will give you more opportunities to link global learning into your curriculum and international partnership collaborations. It will help nurture informed, active global citizenship amongst pupils of all ages and abilities and enhance SMSC provision.
Time commitment
Approximately 12 hours spread across two days over 8-12 weeks.

Face to face workshops. Teachers evaluate the effects of what they implement, in terms of student learning, and prepare a brief report or presentation for evaluation peer review. Optional tutorial support is provided for critique of teaching and learning.
