Global Education Derby are managing this programme on behalf of CoDEC.

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning works with schools around the world to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to thrive.
Global Teachers Award Courses

The Global Teacher Award course will build teacher confidence and competence to bring global learning into their teaching.
  • Key Global Concepts – exploring the fundamentals of global learning
  • Perspectives – questioning pupil’s and teachers assumptions
  • Approaches to Learning – developing critical thinking skills
  • Applying learning – in the classroom, the curriculum and beyond
  • Measuring change – tools for evaluating impact

Created by the Consortium of Development Education Centres, endorsed by Oxfam, the Global Teachers Award (GTA) supports teachers in developing the skills, confidence and practical approaches to incorporate global learning into the curriculum, and to promote active global citizenship in the classroom.

The Level 1* course for the Global Teachers Award is currently offered by selected providers across the country with Level 2* available after successful Level 1 accreditation.

*  GTA Level 1 is offered as a CCGL level 2 course and GTA level 2 is a CCGL level 3 course.
