Information about our project work

We run a range of projects providing opportunities for teachers, youth workers and young people to get actively involved in exploring all aspects of global citizenship. Our projects offer easy ways in to explore big topics like inequality and conflict and build core skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and student leadership.

Take a look at our current project activities and our archive of past projects working with schools, young people and the wider community.

Current Projects/Opportunities:

Global Teachers Award (levels 1 & 2) - CoDEC's contract, to deliver this CPD under the British Council's Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning (CCGL) programme, has now ended.  CoDEC are currently looking at a direct offer to teachers - please check the website for more information.
Derby Schools Linking Programme:  The programme offers a positive, age-appropriate curriculum contribution to spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils, addressing Fundamental British Values and the Prevent Duty.  The project aims to enable children to develop skills of enquiry, critical thinking, reflection and communication, as well as providing the opportunity for children and young people to meet (virtually and face-to-face), build new relationships, work together and contribute to the wider community.
Leaving No-One Behind:  New project, funded by Erasmus+, working with our partners in Germany and Slovenia and two local special schools.  The focus of this project is "exploring ways in which global learning can help SEND students and other marginalised learners reach their full potential".
Derby Intergenerational Linking Project:  Another brand new project, funded by The Dunhill Trust (led by The Linking Network and My Home Life England).  This Care Home Friends and Neighbours p
roject brings together young people and older people in a mutually-beneficial way, sharing experience and hopefully spreading a little joy!
Talent-Ed - Teaching and Learning in Entrepreneurial Education:  Another brand new Erasmus + KA2 strategic partnership project!  Aims include:
Entrepreneurship and global learning for young people with fewer opportunities, skills development and inclusion through creativity and the arts, School Education - reinforcing the key competencies
Other Histories - Working with project partner Youth With A Vision on a new project called “Other Histories: Education as if Black Lives Matter”.
Supported by the Lottery Heritage Fund, the project provides opportunities for young people from black and minority ethnic communities to investigate the history of their community, and its representation or misrepresentation within the school curriculum.
